Overview
Bible Innovation Lab ("BIL") operates Scripture Game Hub (minigames.bible), Community Game Lab (community.minigames.bible), individual game sites, and the BIL Games mobile app. This policy describes how we handle information when you use these services.
Information we collect
- Analytics: Anonymous usage events (page views, game clicks, star ratings) via a server-side PostHog integration. We use a cookie-based anonymous identifier and device fingerprint hash. Event payloads include counts and metadata, not full feedback text unless you are signed in and submit feedback.
- Accounts: If you create an account, we store your username, a hashed password, login streak, and badges in a shared Neon Postgres database for Scripture Game Hub and Community Game Lab. Sessions use an httpOnly cookie scoped to
.minigames.bibleso one login works across both hubs. - Local storage: The hub may save your shuffled game order on this device.
- Feedback: If you submit feedback while signed in, we store the text you provide.
- Notifications (opt-in): If you enable daily reminders, we may store a browser push subscription or a mobile device push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging / Apple Push) linked to an anonymous analytics identifier so we can send puzzle reminders you requested. You can turn reminders off in Settings; we then remove the stored subscription or token. On the native app, local reminders can also fire on-device without contacting our servers.
How we use information
We use analytics to improve games, measure engagement, and understand which features work. Opt-in notification data is used only to deliver the reminders you enabled (for example, that today's puzzle is out). We do not sell personal information.
Third parties
We use Vercel (hosting), Neon (account database), PostHog (analytics), YouVersion (Bible text API in some games), and—when you opt in to remote push on Android—Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications. Discord links open Discord's own service. External links are not covered by this policy.
Children
Our games are family-friendly religious content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate consent.
